Tickets can be purchased at the RAP booth at the Riverside Arts Market, Fans and Stoves (1059 Park Street), Whiteway Delicatessen (1237 King Street), Let Them Eat Cake! (3602 St Johns Avenue), Jacksonville Magazine (1261 King Street), and the RAP office. Tickets may also be purchased at each of the tour homes during tour days. 

Special weekend events include:
  • Antique cars touring the neighborhood, 
  • Two Art Houses (galleries include Farifax Gallery, R. Roberts Gallery, Corse Gallery, and Tayloe White Studio)

Backpacks with the Goo Goo Dolls & Youth Service Day!

Friday, April 23rd

            Global Youth Service Day

            Time:  5 a.m. – 7 a.m.

            Location:  The Sulzbacher Center

            What:  HandsOn Youth Leadership Council is leading a group of teens for Global Youth Service Day.  On Friday morning, teenagers will serve breakfast at the Sulzbacher Homeless Shelter.

            Monday, April 26th

            Blessings in a Backpack Event

            Time:  1:30 p.m.

            Location:  Mayport Elementary School

            What:  The Goo Goo Dolls will join volunteers at Mayport Elementary to pack backpacks for students to take home over the weekend.  The program provides meals over the weekend for 500 local children who receive free or reduced lunch.  This is national program that is currently in three local schools.  It takes $80 per child to help provide one backpack per weekend.

            NOTES:  Local and national organizers of Blessings in a Backpack are available for interviews Monday morning.  Internationally-known rock band The Goo Goo Dolls will perform in Jville on Sunday night and will be available for interviews after backpacks are handed out to students in Mayport.  National website for the program is

Call to Artists - Traditions Explained, Due May 1

For those of you who received this Call to Artists earlier, please NOTE CHANGE OF VENUE to 229 N. Hogan St.  (left corner of Heming Plaza, above Heming Plaza Jewelers).  The Art Center no longer has the space on Bay St.

Jacksonville Consortium of African American Artists (JCAAA) In collaboration with
Traditions Redefined: The Larry and Brenda Thompson Collection of African American Art
organized by David C. Driskell Center for the Study of visual arts and the African Diaspora at
the University of Maryland presents Traditions Explained, a juried art show showing visual expression of a tradition that has been passed through several generations of your family
There will be an opening reception on Friday, May 7th 2010 7pm-9pm and the exhibit will be on display through Friday June 4th.

Open to faculty and students of high school and college
All Mediums Accepted. Original Artwork Only, No images larger than 32 x 40
