SET TO TALK ABOUT JOB GROWTH

 

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.  Oct. 5, 2011 Mayor Alvin Brown will join U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood on a conference call to talk about economic development.

 

Economic growth is Mayor Brown's top priority. One of his major initiatives is the expansion of Jacksonville's ports. Secretary LaHood toured JAXPORT with the mayor in July 2011. Mayor Brown was also recently named chair of the Metro Exports and Ports Task Force for the U.S. Conference of Mayors.

 

Before being appointed Transportation Secretary in 2009, LaHood was a member of Congress (R-Illinois) from 1995 to 2009.
